Has an Injury Caused Your Vertigo?
Many of my clients write to me telling me they suffer from vertigo - the sensation of dizziness or whirling. They are very interested in knowing the causes and what treatments are available.
I am proud to be able to offer my Vertigo and Dizziness program, which has helped a great number of people. Along with the great feedback about my program, people have also shared their personal stories associated with suffering from vertigo.
One common cause of vertigo has been the result of injury to the brain. Many of which were caused by auto accidents. This type of injury is known as a closed-head injury. This is an injury to the brain that is not caused by penetration (i.e., knife, gunshot wound).
Between 25-60% of people who have had a closed-head injury have experienced vertigo - the feeling of spinning or whirling when standing still. This number is hard to pin down as the nature of this condition is elusive and oftentimes difficult to diagnose.
One of the reasons for this is that a car accident doesn’t have to be catastrophic for the person to be affected with vertigo. If it’s a minor accident, one may forget to mention it to his or her doctor.
Most closed-head injuries show no sudden symptoms. Vertigo, like other brain injury symptoms are gradual.
One woman wrote telling me that she had been diagnosed with several conditions before vertigo as a result of injury because the symptoms are the same as other conditions (i.e., Meniere’s Disease).
Several medications and many side effects later, her doctor finally asked about head injuries. This prompted her to recall a car accident months before.
A doctor must diagnose your condition. You should not self-diagnose a brain injury and any associated symptoms. This said, I believe in natural healing and if possible, medicine free.
In our modern times, the equipment is now available to screen patients for risk of fall and is often low or even no cost.
If vertigo as a result of closed-head injury is your diagnosis, don’t worry needlessly. Unlike other forms of vertigo, this is the most common to recover from.
Regardless of the type of vertigo from which you suffer, I would like to recommend my all-natural Vertigo and Dizziness program. My clients have seen dramatic results!
