What Home Remedies For Acne Of The Body Work?
What is body acne?
Body acne is simply the acne that appears on your body. I’ve had to deal with my fair share of it, and I have to say that it is yuck!
Body acne is often worse than face acne, because the acne nodes are usually bigger, deeper, and more painful. Body acne also usually takes longer to go away.
I will go over 3 home remedies for acne on your body in this article and discuss whether or not they work.
Home remedy #1.
The first home remedy that many people try is toothpaste (the old fashioned white kind, not the gels). I’m not really sure why people use toothpaste to dry up acne, but they do.
If you apply toothpaste directly to the acne nodule, it won’t hurt, but in my experience it doesn’t help either. It just doesn’t have enough active ingredients to do much good. So as a home remedy for acne on your body, I would probably avoid this one.
Home remedy #2
The second home remedy is Witch Hazel. Now Witch Hazel is a funny name, but it is also a natural astringent. You can find witch hazel in a bottle at drug stores for less than a latte.
To apply witch hazel, just use a cotton ball and apply it directly to the pimple. Witch hazel is very soothing, and will reduce the redness of the acne. I recommend this home remedy for mild acne.
Home remedy #3
Over the counter products that contain Salicylic Acid. For mild to moderate acne (and sometimes even severe cases) a solution with Salicylic Acid is often the body acne treatments you can do at home.
It’s even better if you have a body wash that contains both Salicylic Acid and Citric Acid, as these two ingredients work together to clear acne fast.
This body acne home remedy is a little pricier than others at about $20 a month, but it gives you some of the best weapons to get rid of body acne and keep it from coming back.
